GPC marks 5 years of providing advanced polymer and product development solutions

GPC is marking five years as a leading independent provider of specialised polymer consultancy and product development services. Established in 2017, GPC quickly built a reputation as the go-to company for addressing complex materials and medtech challenges. Since then, we have been guided by our overriding operational principle of ‘Materials Partnering Design’ and our founding values of ‘Fundamentals First’, ‘Persistence’ and 'Sustainability’. Today, our commitment to our partners and clients, and to addressing demand for sustainable materials and packaging solutions, is reflected in the expansion of our services to include state-of-the-art formulation, multilayer co-extrusion and testing capabilities.   Special thanks to our staff who have worked tirelessly delivering projects and meeting deadlines. Our project ACORN-BP has been awarded funding from the EU Research and Innovation Programme, Horizon 2020.

H2020 provides research and innovation funding for multi-national collaboration projects, taking great ideas from proof-of-concept to the market. 

One such breakthrough is the ACORN Blood Pack project.

Through this project GPC, along with our development partners Ducit Medical, Ireland, Haemotronic, Italy, and Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service, UK are developing a complete blood pack system ‘ACORN-BP’.  Our ACORN-BP is PVC and DEHP free, with a unique material composition capable of achieving up to 42 days storage stability.

We're presenting at the BMTC (Biomedical Manufacturing Technical Centre), South Korea

Korea Institute of Industrial Technology (KITECH) is a government-funded research institute and drives the nation’s industrial advancement by the development and commercialisation of fundamental technologies and technology support for SMEs. The Biomedical Manufacturing Technology Centre (BMTC), an affiliated research centre of KITECH, has established a Research and Development supporting system for medical device manufacturing, particularly in the intervention and minimally invasive surgery fields.

In this lecture, Dr. David Johnson from GPC will address 'Features and functionality of medical devices through informed materials choices'. This lecture will provide an overview of how optimal device features and functionality can be achieved through informed materials decisions. David will take the class though specific materials-related challenges and give advice and suggestions on how to address these. He will also explore some pitfalls around material selection and give some tips and hints as to how they are best avoided.

We're attending SHAPED/Hatfield College Awards
